ReMarkable Blog Tour - August 2016

Welcome to the RemARKable Blog Tour for August! This month's theme is the Thoughtful Branches bundle. I love hydrangeas so I just had to make one!

I decided to make a collage background using mostly the Timeless Treasures stamp set. I first stamped the Fleur-delis with Pear Pizazz all over randomly, stamping off first to make it lighter. I used the honeycomb from Butterfly Basics in Smoky Slate and then grunged it up a bit more with the Timeless Treasures stamp set using Crumb Cake for splats and Smoky Slate. in the corner I used the Toscana Vigneto stamp from Tuscan Vineyards in Memento Tuxedo Black.

For the hydrangea, I painted all my pink pens randomly on a clear block, spritzed it and put it on Whisper White paper. Then I let it dry, impatiently using my heater tool and cut out the hydrangea twice. It wasn't bright enough, so I hand painted a little more Rich Razzleberry on some of the flowers. I put the lighter one on the bottom, then glued the brighter hydrangea on with tiny pieces of dimensionals. I added pearls and clear Wink of Stella for a little glitz.

RemARKable Blog Tour July

Welcome to the RemARKable Blog Tour for July!

I've been watching the Olympic trials on TV and I thought I might be able to make the Olympic rings with the Swirly Bird thinlets! It worked! I think this could work for a summer congratulations card.

Here's the real Olympic rings:

Details: The little thinlets have leaves on the circles. So you have to cut the little leaves off the circles and cut off the inner circle to make rings. Also - notice that the rings intertwine in the actual Olympic rings - your little scissors work for that too! Once you cut them, you can stick the rings in place with the fine tip glue pen. Tweezers help!
I found the Delightful Dijon striped DSP from the 2015-2017 In-Color Designer Series Papers looked pretty golden and slipped it behind thick Whisper White card stock for the background. You need to use the thick card stock so the stripes don't peek through.
