Hi! Welcome to this month's blog tour - this month's theme is Party Animals!

I used the color palette: Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango for my card. 

On the top part of the card, I used Stampin' Write markers and colored directly on the rubber stamp. I then spritzed it and put it on watercolor paper. I also splattered a little of the Tangerine Tango. 

 On the bottom part, I put the ink directly on the block, then spritzed it and pressed it on the paper

. So now, I showed it to my husband and of course he thinks it looks better upside down. What do you think?

I hate it when he's right.

I LOVE this Rose Wonder stamp and matching die set! This month I made two variations of the same card. Both used watercolor paper. Here's the first:

Fo rthis one I embossed the rose and leaves in white embossing powder, then I used my Aquapainters and painted in between the lines. I used a couple of colors so it would appear that I was artistic - it's really very easy! Here's the rose in detail:

Next I decided that I would attempt the same design, but paint the flower and leaves first in the general region that the rose and leaves would be. Then I spritzed the paper with water. The colors ran in all directions. After it dried, I embossed in white.

This was a really fun exercise and now I have to try other colors!

RemARKable Blog Tour - February: What I Love Flowers

I just love to watercolor. Maybe I never truly grew up. This stamp - What I Love - is a MUST HAVE! Not only can you use it as a two step stamp (which I think is really 3 steps, but who's counting?), you can use the flower stamps on their own. Remember the background I did in the Sky's the Limit card?

You need watercolor paper for this project! Wet it, stamp it, spritz it, let it dry. Really, this is child's play - you did this when you were 10. Now you just have better stuff to color it in with.

I did fussy cut the label (yes, you can tell), but you can easily cut it out with the Large Numbers Framelits Dies (mine are in the mail!)

I wanted to make a really Spooky card using the Acrylic Block technique.

Just like in my previous blog post here, I used the thick Whisper White paper for the watercoloring. It just holds up better and doesn't pill. I colored the block with an assortment of neutral colors: Delightful Dijon, Crushed Curry, Basic Gray and Tip Top Taupe with my Stampin' Write markers. Then I spritzed it with water, smooshed on the paper and voila!

To be artsy, I used my Alphabet Rotary stamp and cut out words from Very Vanilla paper. I made little boxes around each word with my black ink pen. Very spooky card. And NO BLING! - a first for me.

Birch Trees in Watercolor

This Woodlands Textured TIEF is insanely addictive. I'm not ready for snow, but these are really fund to do!

Today my challenge was to hide my brayer and see if I could make the background using watercolors. Here's my first card below.

To get the colors in the trees, I inked the horizontal markings by hand with with my Stampin' Write marker in Early Espresso. I "blew" on it and then embossed the Watercolor Paper.

Then I watercolored the sky with Soft Sky reinker. The birds are from the Sheltering Tree stamp set (much more friendly than the ravens in the bundle, don't you think?)  are hand-cut and placed with dimensionals. I used Dazzling Details for snow on the trees.

I then did a second version of the card, which I really like. The background on this one is Marina Mist and Soft Sky. I like the contrast.

Watercolor Block Stamping

It's one of those months that I don't want to read Facebook. I found out two friends died from their pages and then another one from email. So I needed to get a few Sympathy cards done. I decided that it was time to learn how to do Acrylic Block stamping. You can't be sad and do Acrylic Block Stamping.

 Basically I colored with my Stampin' Write markers onto an Acrylic block. For this one I used Real Raspberry and Old Olive. Then I spritzed it with water and pressed it on white paper. I did try both the regular and thick Whisper White cardstock. The thick cardstock worked best without rippling when it dried. I'm pretty sure watercolor paper would work very well. Then I let the ink dry or heat dried it.This is really fun - you can't stop making the backgrounds once you start!

Next I stamped onto the paper. Sometimes I used a piece of scrap paper to mask off the bottom so I could put a sentiment there. I stamped off before stamping to create a shadow effect.

A second version - my favorite I think: Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake and Delightful Dijon. I used Very Vanilla for the background.

I love the saying on this card! Do more of what makes you happy! Something to strive for.

For this card, I first stamped the saying with Versamark and embossed it with white. Then I watercolored the background with my Aqua Painters. You need to rub the letters a little bit to get the  color off. The stamp and bow are in the Occasions catalog and the ribbon is available FREE with qualifying purchase.
