Shabby Quilted Card

I loooooove quilting and quilted cards. The new Hexagon punch caught my eye, because it's a quilt pattern. That plus the Square Lattice die that makes paper look like fabric - I had to try it out. Here was the contest (I lost) - but I adore this card and may have to make a quilt from it.

My card:

some detail:
I made two versions of this card - one with Chalk Talk (130634) & Apothecary Art.

Here's some detail of the backgrounds. Yes, I stamped and punched out a bunch of hexagons using Six-Sided Sampler in a range of colors and stamps. Then I stamped them with the Six-Sided Sampler punch in Wild Wasabi to look like I stitched them. I arranged them into a quilt and glued. Then I put them through the Embossing folder. With tweezers, I rolled up some of the edges to make it look more shabby.
I also tried using the Square Lattice Die (119976) - interestingly, the hexagons fade into the background. Great technique, but not for this project.
